Look East Shares Crisis Management Tips at Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City

The best time to start managing a crisis is before it ever happens, as Look East Vice President Jim Fallon told approximately 100 attendees at the Consumer Driven Changes in the Food/ Agriculture Industry workshop.

Fallon has been with Look East since 2008 and helped clients navigate through many different types of difficult situations. He shared his expertise at the workshop hosted by the Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City on June 14. He was one of the featured public relations speakers in the Tackling Crisis Management discussion, which also included discussions about legal considerations and risk management during the crisis.

Fallon’s presentation focused on the principles of Issues & Crisis Management, including:

  • Do the right thing.
  • Act quickly according to your crisis plan.
  • Be transparent.
  • Fix the problem.

Crisis preparedness is key and you will navigate a crisis more successfully if you have plan, says Fallon. Executing your plan will help you reach the desired outcomes of protecting the public health as well as other goals such as retaining customer confidence and preventing future incidences.
